Confessions of a Shopaholic

So last night, Rebekah and I got to attend an early screening of Confessions of a Shopaholic! We started the evening out by going to The Grape for dinner/drinks. As usual, the food was so good! My favorite thing on the menu is the Steak Sandwich, but I also love the Chicken Quesadillas and the yummy cheeses. In fact, one of Peter's good friends owns a dairy farm in South Georgia and one of his cheeses is on the menu.

After our yummy food, we walked over to the theater to see the show. It was really good and Isla Fisher is so cute. Now I am just looking forward to seeing He's Just Not That Into You, but I'll save that one for next week!

Mikaela J & Junior League

So last night was my first "non-friends" jewelry party! I ended up getting a great response, and even some extra money in the process! Not that many people ended up coming to the meeting, since only 2 are required, but it was definitely a success...I think my next step will be to start dropping off Press Packets to some local boutiques and see what happens. Flashback Friday

So I have decided to post "Flashback Friday" pics each Friday to remember some of the good times I have had. This one is from Fox Day at Rollins College in 2005. Basically, if you are not familiar with Fox Day, it is something that Rollins does every year in the second semester of school. The president chooses one day that all classes are cancelled and everyone goes to the beach for the day. It doesn't matter if you have a paper due, test, or anything, it's all cancelled! Then there are activities and stuff on campus later that day. No one knows when the actual day is, until the president puts out a copper statue of a "Fox" in the middle of campus at about 5am on the chosen day. It is pretty much the craziest day of the year. So...here are some pics of the infamous Fox Day.

Wine Down Wednesday

So yesterday afternoon, Rebekah and I decided that instead of going out to dinner like we normally do on any random week night, we would go work out. We had great intentions, even picking out the Hip Hop class we were going to take at 8pm. With the ipod fully charged and the gym bag in tow, I made my way down Piedmont only to receive a call from RT that she had stopped at Tierra to drop in and say "hi" to Heidi and Matt since they were out to dinner celebrating Matt's Birthday. Needless to say, an hour and a half later, and 4 glasses of 1/2 priced wine later, Rebekah and I finally made our way back to her house...Only to open another bottle of wine. So much for the Hip Hop class, which might have actually been better than what we decided to do next. Lets just say do not see Made of Honor. Possibly the worst movie I have ever seen.

Good intentions turned into a morning of Aleve and Powerade, but at least we found a great restaurant in the process!

Diving Right In!

So, this is my first blog post! I am still not sure that blogging is the right thing for me, considering I have the tendency to get a little obsessed with everything I do, but I thought I would give it a shot! It's not like I don't have enough going on in my life right now... I am not very good at responding to emails or calling people back, so this might be a good way for people to keep up with me! Or maybe just give me time to keep up with myself!

So, I guess I'll just dive right in...

Right now I am really looking forward to next Monday and Tuesday. Monday I have my first non-friends jewelry show! This basically means that I will actually be showing my jewelry to people who don't know me, and who don't feel obligated to buy things from me. This could be good or bad, depending on which way you look at it. I will be spending most of Saturday and part of Sunday getting prepared. It is going to be during a Junior League meeting, so I don't really know how much of it is going to be about my jewelry, but it's a good start! Time to pull out all the pink and green and hope that I will be stuffing bags with some fun Mikaela J stuff!

Tuesday I am planning on going to an early screening of Confessions of a Shopaholic with Heidi, Laura, and Rebekah. I honestly don't think I have ever been more excited to see a movie. I don't know if this is because I feel that I might just have a little too much in common with Isla Fisher's character, or if I just want to live vicariously through her, but I am pumped.
